W+A names Brooks 2011 Employee of the Year
December 21, 2011 – Walker + Associates recently named its office manager, Lawanda Brooks, Employee of the Year for 2011. Walker + Associates employees vote to present the award to the staffer they feel made the most significant contributions to the success of the agency during the past year.
As the office manager at W+A, Brooks handles a wide range of day-to-day activities for the firm, including serving as the receptionist, overseeing time sheets and all incoming and outgoing communication.
“Lawanda’s face and voice are the first people see or hear when they contact us, and she handles her multiple responsibilities with a wonderfully good nature and charm that brightens everyone’s day,” says Ceil Walker, agency president and CEO. “In addition to her duties, Lawanda is always willing to chip in and help with projects whenever needed. She’s a great asset, and we are thrilled to recognize her for her team-oriented work ethic and commitment to getting the job done.”
Brooks has been with Walker + Associates for three years. She is currently working toward a master’s degree in business at Strayer University and holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Memphis. She is a native of Crenshaw, Miss.
